Financial planning

Signature Retirement

A complete retirement planning experience, for the money and the life.

You’ve spent a lifetime building your retirement. Let’s make sure you get to live it. Signature Retirement starts with the life you want, then builds the financial plan to support it: from income and taxes to protection, investments, and the people and experiences that matter most.

We don’t start with your portfolio. We start with you.

It answers “do I have enough?” and then keeps going, to enough for what.

Through The Next Five Priorities Map, we discover what matters most before designing your plan. And for clients who want ongoing support, Signature Retirement Continuum adds an enduring planning relationship and professional portfolio management.

Personal by design. Limited by intention. We welcome new Signature Retirement clients thoughtfully, so every family receives the attention they deserve.

How It Works

The Foundation · Signature Retirement · $2,500 flat fee

A comprehensive, one-year retirement planning engagement built around the life you want. Together we develop a coordinated plan for your priorities, income, taxes, investments, protection, and retirement goals. No account minimums. No obligation to continue.

The Relationship · Signature Retirement Continuum · 0.30%–1.00% per year on managed assets

For Signature Retirement clients who want the relationship to continue, Continuum extends and expands the planning experience. We help implement your strategies, professionally manage your portfolio, monitor your progress, and adapt your plan as life changes. It is the same personal relationship, carried forward, not a separate starting point.

What this experience helps you do

  • Discover what matters most: clarify the priorities and experiences you want retirement to support.
  • Know where your money will come from: coordinate income, Social Security, investments, and taxes.
  • Protect what you have built: prepare for health needs, market uncertainty, and loved ones.
  • Live the retirement you planned for: turn financial clarity into confident decisions and meaningful experiences.

Planning Foundation

The Next Five Priorities Map

Before we build your financial plan, we discover what matters most to you. Through a guided, interactive experience, we identify your five most important priorities, then build your retirement plan around them.

The Living Plan

A retirement plan that breathes: income, taxes, protection, and the life goals they serve. As your life changes, the plan grows with you.

Account Consolidation & Rollover Guidance

Most people approaching retirement have accounts scattered across former employers. We help you see the full picture and decide what to do with it.

Home Equity Strategy

Your home is likely one of your largest assets. We make sure it’s part of the plan.

Income & Cash Flow

Monthly Paycheck Design

Retirement doesn’t come with a direct deposit. We build one for you: a reliable monthly income drawn from the right sources in the right order.

Guardrails Monitoring

1 Year

Your income is watched against a set of guardrails: signals that tell us when a small, early adjustment keeps the plan on track. And when the signal says you can spend more, we say so.

Social Security Strategy

When you claim Social Security is one of the most consequential decisions in retirement. We run the numbers before you make it.

Pension / Lump-Sum Analysis

If you have a pension, you will likely face a choice you can’t undo. We help you understand it before you answer it.

Bucket Structure

Basic Design

Your money is organized into buckets you draw from at different times, to help reduce the need to sell long-term investments during a market downturn.

Tax-Smart Spending Strategy

Initial

The order you spend from your accounts in retirement matters as much as how much you spend. We build a strategy around it.

Investments & Portfolio

Investor Risk Score

Before we touch your portfolio, we understand how you actually feel about risk, not how you think you’re supposed to feel.

401(k) / Retirement Plan Review

If you have an employer retirement plan (a 401(k), 403(b), or SIMPLE IRA), we make sure it is working as hard as the rest of your plan.

Portfolio Design

Basic Design

Your investment mix should match your retirement plan, not the other way around.

Tax Strategy

Proactive Tax Review

Initial

A forward-looking review of your tax picture: not a recap of last year, but a look at what’s coming and what we can do about it now.

Roth Conversion Analysis

A Roth conversion moves eligible retirement funds into a Roth account, generally creating a tax bill today in exchange for potential tax-free qualified withdrawals later. Done right and at the right time, it can meaningfully reduce what you pay in taxes over your lifetime.

RMD Planning

Reviewed

Required Minimum Distributions affect your taxes, your Medicare premiums, and your Roth conversion window. We plan around them, not after them.

IRMAA Management

Modeled

A large Roth conversion or a one-time income event can trigger a Medicare premium surcharge most people never see coming. We model for it in advance.

Charitable Giving Strategy

Reviewed

If giving is part of your life, it should be part of your plan, in a way that is tax-efficient, not just generous.

Protection & Health

Life Insurance Review & Placement

The right life insurance in retirement looks very different from the right policy at 40. We review what you have and make sure it still makes sense.

Long-Term Care Conversation

Long-term care is easier to plan for early, and harder to ignore the longer you wait. We have the conversation while the options are still open.

Health / Medicare Planning

The gap between your last employer health plan and Medicare is one of the most expensive stretches in early retirement. We plan for it.

Survivor Planning

Initial

If something happens to you, your spouse’s financial life changes immediately. We plan for that now, while it is a conversation instead of a crisis.

Legacy & Documents

Beneficiary Review

Initial

Your beneficiary designations override your will. If they are out of date, the plan doesn’t matter.

Estate Planning Documents

Add-on

Wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives: the documents that protect you and your family when they are needed most.

The Experience

Coaching

Initial

Retirement is a life change, not just a financial one. We plan for both.

The Retirement Life Design Studio

1 Year Access

Your plan, living and visible: a dashboard, a client app, a secure document vault, and a sandbox where we test the what-ifs before real life does.

The Retirement Life Binder

Initial Setup

A premium leather binder designed to complement your digital experience, not compete with it. Some things deserve a place you can hold.

Clients Only Insights Newsletter

1 Year

A regular publication for clients only: the thinking behind the decisions, not a market recap you didn’t ask for.

The Signature Review

First Review Included

A single-page snapshot of your plan before every review, and a face-to-face Signature Review every year. You always know where you stand and what changed.

The Outcome

You should sleep well.

That is the test of a real retirement plan. Not a binder’s thickness, not a projection’s optimism: whether you can spend a Tuesday without doing retirement math in your head. The plan has done its job when you no longer check your account balance to find out how to feel about your day.

A protected retirement is half the job. Permission to enjoy it is the other half.

Signature Retirement Continuum · 0.30%–1.00% per year

This is what it looks like when someone knows you well enough to see what your plan hasn’t opened up yet.

Continuum is built on the relationship that started in Signature Retirement. We know your Next Five. We know what keeps you up at night and what you’re working toward. That knowledge is what makes ongoing planning different. It’s not just monitoring a portfolio; it’s knowing you well enough to spot every opportunity your plan has to move you closer to the retirement you described on day one.

Your plan becomes an ongoing relationship, with continued reviews and the additional implementation and management services outlined below.

What Continuum adds:

Full Custom Portfolio Design & Management

Your portfolio is built to your plan and actively managed: rebalanced, monitored, and adjusted as your life and the markets move.

Buffer Portfolio Design

A specifically engineered portfolio sleeve designed to participate in market growth while limiting how much a bad year can take from you.

Tax-Loss Harvesting

When positions in your portfolio drop in value, there is often an opportunity to turn that loss into a tax benefit, without changing your investment strategy in any meaningful way.

Tax Return Preparation

Your return is prepared and filed through our partner tax firm, Vincere Tax, so the tax strategy in your plan and the return you actually file agree with each other.

The Family Table Meeting

Continuum Only

A meeting with the people you want in the room (your beneficiaries, your adult children, whoever matters) to share the plan and introduce them to the Retirement Life team.
