Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to give us: your name, email address, and whatever you write in a form. We use it to respond to you, deliver what you requested (a guide, a course, a spot on the waitlist), and, if you opt in, send you our content.

Who sees it

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers required to operate this site and deliver our services (such as email, scheduling, and checkout providers), each bound to use it only for that purpose.

Analytics

Vercel hosts this site, and we use its Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It records anonymous page views: the time, the page address and its filtered query parameters, the site you came from, your approximate location (country, region and city), your device type, and your operating system and browser with their versions. It sets no cookies and collects no personal identifiers. It tells one visit from the next with a hash made from the incoming request, and discards that visitor session after 24 hours. We see only the aggregated statistics.

In some places we ask before measuring anything: the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and California, and anywhere we cannot tell where you are. There, analytics stays off until you choose Allow analytics. Everywhere else it is on unless you choose Decline analytics or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, which we treat as a no. Declining stops it at once. You can change your choice any time with Privacy choices in the footer of every page.

Cookies

This site sets two cookies of its own, and the analytics sets none. A cookie named wr_consent stores your analytics choice for 180 days. A cookie named privacy_mode records whether your location is one where we ask first; our server sets it from the approximate location our hosting provider supplies, and it lasts one day.

What stays in your browser

Your browser’s session storage, which empties when you close the tab or window, holds two things: whether the homepage introduction has already played this visit, and your progress through The Next Five.

The Retirement Picture Check runs in your browser; answers are not transmitted to us unless you choose to email yourself the results.

Video and other providers’ sites

Podcast episode pages embed YouTube videos in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube’s own privacy policy governs the player.

When you buy a book or the course, or book a conversation through our scheduling link, you leave this site for that provider’s site, and its privacy policy applies there.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. Send a note through the contact page and a human will handle it.
