What's inside

Eight sessions. Four cornerstones. One vision.

The course walks the four cornerstones of the retirement transition (and covers the whole picture along the way, finances included), turning what you discover into a written retirement vision.

Guided video sessions

Eight sessions you take at your own pace: honest, warm, and free of hustle-culture cheerleading.

Interactive workbook

Real exercises, not busywork. Your answers build toward your Retirement Vision Plan.

Ask a real coach

Send a question to your coaches from inside the workbook and a certified coach answers you personally. A real human, not AI. Your workbook stays yours: we see what you choose to send.

Your Retirement Vision Plan

A written vision you keep to inform your financial decisions.

The eight sessions

Eight sessions to help you picture the life you are retiring to and take steps toward it.

  1. What Are You Retiring To?

You may know when you want to leave work but still feel unsure what comes next. Start identifying what you want more of in retirement, what you would regret putting off, and what you want this new chapter to hold.

  2. What Will Work Leave Behind?

Work provides more than a paycheck. It can give your days structure, connection, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Discover what you will be glad to leave behind, what you might unexpectedly miss, and what deserves a place in your life beyond work.

  3. Who Are You Becoming?

When your job title no longer introduces you, it can be hard to answer, “Who am I now?” Explore the strengths, interests, and possibilities that are still yours, and challenge the assumptions about aging that may be holding you back.

  4. What Will You Do on an Ordinary Tuesday?

Vacations and special occasions are easy to picture. An ordinary day in retirement can feel less clear. Find the right mix of freedom, rhythm, connection, and activities that make everyday life feel like your own.

  5. Who’s Coming With You?

Retirement can change how often you see coworkers, friends, family, and your community. Consider which relationships you want to protect, what kind of connection truly fits you, and which conversations are worth having before expectations go unspoken.

  6. Will Your Health Support the Life You’re Planning?

It is easy to put health off until a problem interrupts your plans. Focus on what you want your health to help you keep doing, where you have choices today, and how to adapt when life does not go exactly as pictured.

  7. Enough for What?

“Do I have enough?” is difficult to answer when you have not defined what your money needs to make possible. Connect your financial questions to the life you want, identify what matters most to protect, and see where you may have room to adjust.

  8. What’s in Your Gift Now?

You have gathered the pieces, but how do they fit together? Bring your discoveries into a clearer picture of the life you want, identify what supports it, and choose a first step you can take now instead of waiting for retirement.

This is for you if…

  • Retirement is 1–10 years away and the money plan is further along than the life plan
  • You recently retired and the days feel emptier, or stranger, than expected
  • You are a couple who suspects you're picturing two different retirements
  • You keep asking “what am I going to do every day?” and getting brochure answers

It’s probably not for you if…

  • You want stock picks or advice on your own portfolio; the course explains how retirement money works, it does not give investment advice
  • You want someone to hand you a finished life; this is a guided discovery, and you do the discovering
  • You're looking for a webinar to run in a background tab

One more thing, said plainly: the course is a companion to financial planning, never a prerequisite. You never need to have life figured out before the plan can start.

From people who took it

What course members say.

“Just what I needed”

I thought I had everything figured out. But after starting this course, I realized I had no real plan for how I actually wanted to live in retirement. Unwrapping Retirement helped me connect the dots between what I value and how I want to spend my time. I now have a clear vision that excites me, and a plan to live it out.
David M.

“Feeling more confident”

At first, I wasn’t sure a course could help me with something as personal as retirement. But the way this course is designed, it’s thoughtful, relatable, and practical. It felt like the instructors truly understood what I was going through. The section on relationships and identity after leaving work hit home. I now feel more confident about what's ahead than I ever expected.
Linda K.

“Helped our relationship”

We took the course together and it sparked conversations we didn’t even know we needed to have. It helped us realign on what matters most in this next chapter.
Mary and Jay W.

“Prepare to retire successfully”

Unwrapping Retirement was such an insightful experience. I had been retired for a year and now going back to work. This class has shown me there is a lot to consider and plan for when retiring. I will now be able to prepare for retirement in the future with all the knowledge I have gained thru the class. I recommend this to everyone and even to those who have many years prior to retiring so they can prepare to retire successfully.
Kathy F.

“I highly recommend”

I retired two years ago and wish this course was available at that time! Although already retired, I have still learned tons of valuable information that I have started using to enrich my life. Learning about the four cornerstones was a “wow” moment for me. Each week the series was filled with unique insights to support and enrich life in retirement. I highly recommend the course. Thank you Deana and RC!

Honest answers

Before you decide.

  • Eight guided sessions built around the four cornerstones of the retirement transition, and an interactive digital workbook you complete as you go. When something in it raises a question, you can send that question to your coaches from inside the workbook and a certified coach answers you personally: a real human, not AI and not an autoresponder. Your workbook is yours: we see the questions you choose to send us, nothing else. You finish with a written retirement vision you can hand to any financial plan, including ours. If you would also like a one-on-one session with a coach, that can be arranged separately for an additional fee.

Unwrapping Retirement cover: an open gift box with a ribbon path leading past a home, a garden and a bicycle to a couple walking toward the hills.

Unwrap it well.

Eight sessions, a workbook, and coaches in your corner, for less than one nice dinner out. Your next chapter deserves the thought.
